Daily Happenings and anime-related stuff

Since it seems some of you don't like the anime parts of my posts, I'll put the life part in front and put my anime obsessions at the back.
--

Recently I've been updating my blog a lot more than I used to be. Maybe because right now I seem to be running low on friends (Current people who I consider friends: Marcus Choy, Darren, Bristan, Danyal, Zong, Marcus [Scouts and Drama], Jun Meng, Joel Lee Keng Yeen). Looks like I'll be relying on this blog a lot more than I originally planned to back then, when I made my blog just for fun.

Anyway, drama has been rather stressful lately, when combined with the mass of March Holiday Homework I still have left over from the holidays. For example, 4 math worksheets, 3 A-math worksheets, History War Guilt Clause worksheet, and basically that is it. But do not underestimate Mr Keith Tan's imbalanced E-Math worksheets, they will one hit ko you if you do not approach with the utmost caution.

OHMYGOD MY NAGISA STICKER IS COMING OUT! KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE PUT IT WHERE MY PALM WOULD BE RUBBING AGAINST IT LIKE ALL THE TIME. GODDAMNIT.

*ahem* Moving on... I became more enthusiastic towards Scouts recently. Maybe because of the fun I had at the MGS campfire (which did not have anything to do with girls, mind you). On the other hand, I'm getting more and more sick of Drama - probably because I have very little interest in actual acting. I joined originally because Zong was in it and Aikido sucked arse, but I'm still having fun joking around with *surprise* Bristan and Keng Yeen.

I will probably update tomorrow before I go for Drama Camp on Fri-Sun.

As for the Anime Section,
Been watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Heaven Piercing Drill or something like that). I originally thought it was a shallow comedy mecha anime, but surprisingly, there is actual plot to it. This is akin to the shock I got when I discovered Toradora was AWESOME. Right now on the 2nd or 3rd arc if I'm not wrong, at the part where Simon finds Nia.

I am also still downloading Hayate no Gotoku (Hayate the Combat Butler), and watched 2 episodes after putting them on high priority download. The animation is very.. not good, I have to say, but the storyline is definitely random and entertaining - for now. It doesn't seem like there's going to be any deep plot to it, but I'm only on the 2nd episode so it's too early to say.

And finally, I am downloading True Tears, which won one of the awards at Anime Blog ga Arimasu (An anime blog that I frequent as a lurker). The screenshot caught my eye and enticed me, took me a good 3 months to find decent torrent for it - surprisingly a batch torrent by the subbers. I've watched the 1st and 2nd episode while the rest are still downloading, and I am definitely hooked on it. Already downloaded the OP and ED and putting them on my PSP. It looks like it may match Toradora in terms of entertainment, but it's not CLANNAD-standard. At least, not yet.

Confession Time

Hmm, for some reason this incident comes back to me - the time that (I think) I almost killed my little brother. Yeah, it sounds weird, but I just feel like putting it up here for some reason - one day I'll come back and reread this, hopefully have a good laugh.

It was some time last year or in Secondary One, which is around the time I stopped bullying my little bro. From P1 to P6 I was always tormenting him, hitting or throwing stuff at him for no reason. But for some reason, I stopped doing that in Sec 1, and started treating him like an 'ideal brother'. This is around when it started.

He used to be scared of me, scared of whatever I did. Whenever I moved my hand he'd back off, but gradually he started to become an arrogant fag - whenever I ask him to help me get something (usually convenient for him since he was at the place), he would refuse. I kinda tolerated this for awhile.

Then one day, I was arguing with him for something. Probably had to do with him refusing to help me with the simplest tasks (e.g. hes in the kitchen and I ask him to get me a tissue), and I got damn pissed. His comebacks as usual were all utter trash, stuff like... oh wait he never fought back, he just looked at me with defiant eyes. Then at some point he shouted something like 'Yeah right, you care for me too much, you surely won't hit me one'

Lol, that so got me off. From what I still remember, I grabbed him by the collar and threw him onto the bed, and started shouting shit at him. Nothing vulgar because my maid was outside and she was way overprotective of little brother, but still shouting. And it was the new maid so she was pretty damn scared of me also (I am a total bitch at home). Then when he started being defiant again, he went and kicked my stomach. After that I kicked him onto the ground and stepped my foot on his chest while telling him to 'stop being such a bloody asshole and stop taking shit for granted' and then left him there, coughing on the ground while I went outside to the hall.

I probably still remember it because I thought he was going to die after I left him on the ground, he couldn't stand up and looked like he was choking. Though, about half an hour later he came out with red eyes - yeah he probably cried or something. Well, after that day he hasn't been an arrogant ass since, and takes me seriously if I'm really pissed or stressed out.

...Not sure why I put this up, or what the title is supposed to mean, but hey, at least it's something for you guys to read, eh?

Kanon

I wonder how many of you bother to read the blog title.
Hell, I wonder how many of you are bothering to check this blog anymore.
It seems only Bristan is bothering to talk in the cbox.

Anyway, I was bored just now after having nothing to do (packed my bag and contemplated the worst outcomes for tomorrow and how to get out of them), making sure I put Marcus Choy's report book in my bag as well as the Keith Tan homework to show Darren incase he doesn't belive I already tried it.

Was sitting at my computer, frustrated because all the Bamboo Blade torrents are dead, decided to torrent Hayate the Combat Butler instead and am downloading that now along with a True Tears batch torrent.

And I was bored enough, while staring at my desktop, to open up the Kanon.exe and start playing again. I feel kind of guilty being so enthusiastic about Shiori's path being opened 2 months ago when NDT released their patch, but never got past, like, the 1st week. I haven't even gotten to the part where Yuiichi enters school yet, which is kind of pathetic in my opinion.

If I remember correctly I told myself to play it during the holiday but obviously that didn't happen, and I probably will not be able to play the VN properly until SYF is over and I may finish off Shiori's path in 3-4 weeks at the rate this is going. Hopefully NDT releases the patch for Mai by then, because I kinda want to play her path - or rather, her path comes to mind first when I think 'which path do I want to play...'.

In other life news, Zong seems to be a bit 'colder' towards me, and I seem to be talking with Bristan more. Resentment towards Dornel continues and I am gradually relying on Darren and Marcus as my only friends in 3.07. Kind of sad, I know, at this rate I'll be a total loner this year and next year. I wouldn't consider Dornel so much of a friend as he is a person that happens to be talking to me in that particular environment that I am in. Seems like he only talks to me to irritate me, talk about Krystal or Ariel. Otherwise there's really no reason.

As for Merrill, his crazy antics continue to frustrate me when they are pulled off at the wrong times and I barely ever talk to Danyal for anything other than obtaining permission to do things or checking about Drama.

And Thomas.. uh... my relations with him continue to be, uh, as strong as ever. Yep.

Sigh, my life is going down the drain. I'd rather be failing with lots of friends than doing super good but being a loner. At this rate, I'll have the crap ends on both sides - failing with no friends.

Blargh.

Back to school

This one week break is almost over.

It really didn't feel like a break, more like a taste of the holiday before they snatch it back from us. Hell, I didn't even have enough free time this week that I would consider it a break. It's already so damn short, why would the teachers want to flood us with homework? I mean fine, we only have one worksheet for English, 3 mini-assignments for Chemistry and 1 pseudo-assignment for A Math (She never said we had to hand it up), but... 5 worksheets for E Math? SERIOUSLY? And they all have, what, 10 questions with a) b) parts in them?

People in IP probably have more homework than us, but bear with me, because I chose to remain in express. I actually expected us to have more homework since our O Levels is next year, but for some reason you guys have more homework anyway.

Currently my table is crowded in A Math because I've already given up on E Math (every worksheet around question 3 is where I start not being able to do), I plan on finishing the Quadratic Equations and Inequalities and English homework before I go play a little then continue to the A Math Surds worksheet.

Doesn't feel like a break, not at all. The only good thing that came out of this week is that I had enough time to download 2 anime series (Toradora and Toaru Majutsu no Index, and probably tonight I'll start on Minami-ke) and rekindled my inner 'scout spirit' at the MGS Campfire. (It's not so much what you would be thinking, it was more of the craziness we were doing.)

Ah, let's elaborate on the campfire.
We had a lot of fun, our SPL got us to do crazy shit like during one of the campfire songs that involved a few lines that go something like 'around the campfire..', every group is around 3m away from the campfire but our SPL got us to stand up and walk towards the campfire (like a gang, with our hands swinging and all), then we made a circle around the campfire, started singing in a ridiculously loud voice and then ran back to our place.
Also; our carnivorous SARS-infected Giraffe.

I dunno whether our crazy antics made people laugh or made people think we were idiots. I know that we were laughing at a lot of it, and that RGS girls were taking pictures of us when we were doing all our stupid shit, but we seriously looked like idiots. During the Giraffe catwalk thing, I saw a few people with irritated faces around the campfire which kind of dimmed the fun I was having.

Well, whatever. Next weeks campfire is going to be crazier, according to our SPL. We will try and attain the 'Most Enthusiastic' prize as well as the 'Early Bird' prize which for some reason wasn't given out during the MGS Campfire.

I may or may not go, hmm.
Waiting for someone to message me, asking me to DotA or something.

Life and other stuff

As usual, I've been thinking about life and it's meaning way too much for a normal 14 year old. But it gets me thinking - why should anybody make friends with me? I mean, I don't know what positive points I have, I'll try and list them out without being modest.
Note that these points are 'as a friend' and doesn't include talents that don't help others.

Positive Points
1. Ready to play around most of the time.
2. Sarcasm is funny occasionally. Occasionally.

Negative Points
1. Tends to be overly sarcastic
2. Secretive
3. Clingy
4. Annoying, I suppose?
5. Lazy/Doesn't help you all much
6. Gets annoyed fast (No tolerance for idiocy in my own opinion)
7. The stuff I'm interested in (anime, jmusic) tends to be completely different

So... with 2 positive points to 7 negative points, why would anyone befriend me? Maybe I'm missing a few good points or bad points, but chances are it still makes out to be more negatives than positives.

And so I will start a tag game. Whether or not anyone follows it is up to them, but since I only have 3 people to tag... although I do realise it's not going to fly around a lot

--
Rules of Game: List out 3 good points about each of your friends that you tag (Yes, at LEAST 3)
Tag Targets: Bristan, Merrill, Zong, Danyal
(I do realise Zong doesn't have a blog and Danyal's blog is dead. And that Dornel is missing. I could only think up 2 for him, so meh.)

Bristan: Honest, Not easily irritated, approachable
Merrill: Random, Likes Anime, Can seriously talk with
Zong: Is friendly, doesn't mind spending money for other people (McDonalds!), helps organizes events/outings
Danyal: Friendly, Optimistic, Smart (This tends to lead to homework copying though.. >.>)
--
Hopefully you guys bother to play this tagging game, even if you decide not to do the same back to me. Because I'm only making this up to avoid doing homework.

Today = Fuck it, Dornel

Okay so I woke up at 7AM to go to Drama early since it started at 9, but since I had to wait 30 minutes for the 105 bus I ended up being late by about 15 minutes.

Drama was generally very boring as per usual, nothing interesting going on. Mostly me being anti-social backstage or somewhere in the front with my PSP. Though we had a few screwups like at one point we forgot to bring out a chair for Danyal so the cast had to improvise. Though I expected something like one of the wizards to say "Oh! Let me get you a chair" then run backstage and get a chair for him.

Anyway, nearing to the end of the session, me and Zong were trying to find out if Dornel was really at Vivo or not - and so we found out he was. Alright, that meant we were going there also to be assholes. Took the bus to Dover MRT when Bristan said he couldn't go with us, so he just followed us on the MRT to Outram Park - where we called Thomas and told him to come. Then went on to Vivo and ate lunch at Food Republic.

This is where the fun starts!

Me, Zong and Thomas meet up outside GV after looking around at random shit for awhile, and then wait. And wait. Aaaand wait. Nothing to do, just waiting for Dornel. I was spamming him with vulgarity-filled SMS's, stuff like "Where the fuck are you, jackass, we've been waiting for 2 hours." since we were all pissed that Dornel wasn't replying. I mean seriously, is it that hard to sms in the cinema while watching a movie - he didn't even tell us what time the damn movie would start or end. '1hr30m' is not freaking specific, damnit. We thought his movie was going to end at 3, so we waited at GV from 3 until 4:10, when we were about to leave, but Dornel sms'd me saying that he was out.

With Zong under time constraints thanks to his Dad already arriving and me being obviously pissed off, we met up with Dornel and well, we basically saw Ariel and her friends in the background at the Canon shop. Since the whole reason I even came was to meet her and her friends (or stalk them and be a complete irritance), the fact that I saw them, in plain view, running away from us really got on my nerves. Zong rushed off and Dornel and Thomas tried to convince me to go to the Arcade with them but in the end we just went our seperate ways and went home.

Got home feeling pissed, turned on heater and lay down on the bed while my PSP played some music and fell asleep. When I woke up, the Kanon song 'yume no ato' was playing and my eyes were blurred, so when I woke up the place kind of looked like heaven and I kept asking 'where am I' with yume no ato reaching the point where all the instruments come together into one orgasmic mix of music. And then my brother came in, ruining the moment, and I came back to reality.

-sigh-

What really gets me about the Ariel and Dornel thing is that on the phone, Dornel said something vague along the lines of 'Yeah, she doesn't mind', leading me to believe that Ariel didn't mind meeting up with us - the whole reason I stayed 2 hours in Vivo doing absolutely nothing but being pissed. And I checked with Ariel and she didn't say anything like that.

Fuck you, Dornel.

CLANNAD Afterstory 22 and Toradora!

I think I'll start off with CLANNAD, since it'll be short. There are epic spoilers, but I'll try to keep em as subtle as possible.

I knew this ending would come. Mostly because I already played every path in the Visual Novel and know all the endings, well except I forgot Ryou's but meh. It was definitely satisfying to see how KyoAni did this one, and a lot of the scenes were good to watch, made me smile. Like the one where their talking about the balls of light and happiness, and all the characters are shown turning around as the camera flies past them, or the showing of all the different characters in their future selves.

...Honestly nothing to say except it's still at the top of my list, even moreso now. One more extra episode before KyoAni (I assume) moves on to the next Suzumiya Haruhi anime. But I dunno, I can't read Japanese so I have trouble looking at their site.

As for Toradora!, I previously mentioned I only downloaded it recently (I'm guessing about a week and a half ago) and it already flew to the 2nd rank in my list of favourite anime. Mostly because it's a love-comedy with actual emotions, plot and the characters are the kind that you can sort of relate to. Sort of. Okay not really, since Ryuuji is a super-helpful super-tolerant person and Taiga is a super-aggresive, super-tsundere (OMG) girl.

But in any case, Toradora! 23 had a normal Toradora start off, but then from around the last 5 minutes or so it started to go into the whole Minorin pressure scene, ending with Taiga running down the hallway crying and Ryuuji trying to make a decision. Looks like this newfound anime is also going to end soon, meaning I can move on to the other animes I have. Eventually. Though I think I'm going to cut off ToHeart and Da Capo from my watchlist.

And also; download Minami-ke and Toaru Majutsu no Index.
My holidays will end with both of my favourite anime series ending.
Damn, this sucks.
