I just read this entire article.
Now I'm put in deep thought.

What I got from this article was:
- Use any means necessary as long as the elitist pro bastards think it's alright.

So there are certain things that 'bring the game to a whole new level', and things that 'completely break the game until it's not playable'. Those would be the unblockable custom combos and Akuma respectively.

I wish he addressed things like infinites, would those be considered 'a necessary means to be used to win', or something that 'breaks the game'.

Bah.

So the rules are set by the pros of the community, those who find a counter to these 'cheap' tactics. I only play 2 games seriously, Dissidia and DotA. Both of these games have incredibly annoying tactics that you have to deal with when you're playing people who 'play to win'.

In Dissidia, it's infinite combos.

In DotA, it would be backdooring. I guess to pubs it would be ganking all game but we all know thats a legit way of playing.

In Dissidia, I play by rules that banned EX Counter, EX Burst. Even though I already know ways to counter those tactics, fake out the enemy and make them waste their EX Guard. Still, I ban it for some reason. I wonder why, was I just pissed off with being beaten in a single HP attack that led to a Burst which would do more than enough to kill me?

In DotA, you counter backdooring with TP scrolls. Only problem is, backdooring can make or break your push. You're all 5 heroes on the enemy mid lane, you're raxing them, ah but there's a freaking Clinkz at top lane breaking you in and he's already gotten to your throne's first tower. It's annoying, I find it pissing, am I supposed to deal with it?

The Dissidia community has varying views and hasn't grown enough to talk about EX bursts and EX counters yet, but the DotA community has been there for a long time. Even now, after checking so many times, I can't tell if backdooring is allowed or not. In the general public community, it's frowned upon. No one likes it, no one wants to deal with it, no one uses it. A few weeks ago Dornel was arguing with me, saying that he plays to win, he doesn't give a shit if the act is frowned upon or not.

After reading that goddamn article, I now have second thoughts about what you can call my Gamer's 'Code of Honour'.

Just cause my little brother got 217 in PSLE, theres a shit load of drama at my house and I'm getting pulled into the bullshit. Parents trying to decide whether to appeal for Independent or not, and whether or not it will affect Barker's acceptance of my brother.

Damn pissing, when I said Barker has more gangsters and ah bengs than Independent (which you cannot deny is true), my dad said that it doesn't matter cause there are gangsters in our house, which is basically saying I'm a gangster.

What the hell?

My dad needs to redefine gangster in his vocabulary.

Anime Festival Asia '09

I woke up around 7:30 in the morning that day, got dressed and got to Dover MRT right on time at the designated meeting time, which was 8 or 8:30. I can't remember clearly anymore. Saw Thomas, then waited for Samuel for 30 minutes and we got to City Hall by about 9. Met up with Randall and 2 of his friends from Barker, then lined up for tickets until like 10. We went in and walked around, there wasn't much interesting except for a friggin Ichinose Kotomi figure that was priced at $80. I wanted to buy it, but was afraid I'd find something more appealing to me that would be out of my price range after I bought it, so I left it there.

Little did I know that I would come back to have a OHMYGODWHERETHEFUCKDIDITGO expression on my face about 4 hours later that day.

There wasn't really much to see, no incredibly impressive booths but the atmosphere was wild. It was incredibly crowded, probably because it recieved a lot of internet hype and advertisments and all that. Probably the only convention where foreigners come from overseas just to visit and walk around the convention. E.g. not guests that were invited.

Noisy, pushy, lots of free stuff. All of us got this huge plastic bag, and after walking around for awhile (I split up from the group a multitude of times), me, Jon Wei and Thomas went to line up at the KKnM line that lasted about 3 blocks of stores. With each block of store being about a 30 minutes wait, we stood in that line for 1 and a half hours. I nearly started crying because I'd been standing for the whole day already, and it was 11 when we started queueing. My gosh my back ached like all hell for some reason. In the end all I bought at KKnM was a Shana A4 folder. But I was happy with that.

After that went to eat lunch with Jon Wei and Thomas at the food court in a different tower. A cheaper, less crowded one. I bought overpriced chicken rice that Jon Wei thought was cute because my rice came in a pyramid shape.

Then everyone left, and it was just me and Samuel. I bought a Tsukimiya Ayu figure from the shop that had the Kotomi figure (I snatched the Ayu figure, deciding that I wouldn't be regretting anything else that day).

About 2 hours later after wandering with Samuel for damn long, I found out my Ayu had her leg broken off. Went back to the shop and asked if I could get a refund or a replacement, they told me there was no warranty at the marketplace but they told me how to fix it.

Anyway, went on to Anisong later that night. I love fucking concerts, YES. The singers sure do sing different in LIVE! compared to Studio recorded songs. Nakagawa Shoko has a much higher pitch in real life, and she screams a lot.

"YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! I, ah.. RABU SINGAPORREEE! I RABU ALL OF YOU!"

Wow, but that was lovely concert. I loved Miku's performance, I saved my glow stick for that glorious 10 minutes. Too bad, it was only 10 minutes. She performed World is Mine, Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru and one other song that neither me nor Samuel could remember. Their all Project Diva songs though.

I stood for almost 1hr 10mins before my legs finally gave up on me (about 3 songs into Aniki's performance). I sat for the rest of the concert except for the final 2 songs, and the Shoko + Aniki 1st time together song.

A $100 well-spent in my opinion.

I'm wonder if I should go for Makino Yui's concert at EOY. It's a massive $49 at cheapest, which is essentially all the money I'll be getting. I like her music, but if I go for it, it means two things. One, I'll be going home super fucking late again. Second, I won't even be able to buy the super cheap bargain deals like the $25 Max Factory Suzumiya Haruhi figure. I'll end up shooting myself if something like that appears again.

Hard to choose, hard to choose.

Anyway, went out with the others today, met up at Lido, watched 2012 which is a okay movie, and then ate at Takashimaya's food court. Went to Singapore Polytechnic since Benson told me that they had a bowling alley there, but apparently you need to be a member or have booking to bowl there. Oh well. Went to Zong's house, MW2 for about 1hr30 and then went home. Not much to say about today, actually. Was pretty stone once we went to Zong's house, and since I already played MW2 all day yesterday I just let other people play. Not that I wanted to anyway.

Happy feeling about the A Math exam, I have this good feeling I passed and the exam as a whole wasn't that hard. I managed to prove the identitiy, even though when I first looked at the question I was like 'Ah fuck, just skip. Looks too hard.' but when I realised I had 30 minutes to do both that identities question as well as the graph, I ended up doing the thing anyway. Surprisingly after throwing shit around, I managed to get it to work and proved the identity. Second part of the question was easy enough. I skipped about 25% of marks worth of questions, but it should be okay. Maybe 55-60% , but I'm not sure of course.

Thank Haruhi that I practiced so long the day before, thanks to all the people who replied to my questions. Merrill, Danyal, Samuel, David, Lucas. Probably wouldn't have understood without your helps.

A Math Re-exam

@Dornel: My cousins a chinese, a lot of people in Malaysia are chinese. Not to mention I find that somewhat insulting to my cousin...

A Math Re-examination on wednesday. I was (and still am) doing Trigo and Binomial since 4pm until now (6:30pm). I have tuition in 30 minutes so I'll just stop for now, but I finally realised the severity of my stupidity. I had almost 7 people explaining to me the exact same question, and only Samuel could teach me 100% how to do the question. Thanks, btw.

Yeah, so tomorrow hopefully my willpower will be strong enough to keep me going for at least 5-6 hours, until I've mastered at least Binomial, Factor/Remainder and Trigo Graphs/Functions. Not much hope for Identities.

I am BACK!

Got back from JB at about 12:15AM this morning. Went to sleep almost straight away after checking subsites.

Went shopping in JB for the first time, went to Holiday Plaza only though. Ignoring the DVDs my mom bought, and the PS2 game my brother bought, I got Mana Khemia for PS2, FFX-2 for PS2 and a new aluminium cover for my PSP. I looked around for a copy of Modern Warfare 2 (Hopefully I'd find one at a cheaper price than in Singapore) but all I found were GameBox (pirated 360) games, Wii games and PS2 games.

I learned that Malaysians are very normal with seeing porn on the streets. I was with my uncle, mother, brother and female cousin when we went into a DVD shop. And then I saw a rack of porn videos (naked pics on front and all) and I just kind of blocked my brother and cousin from going near there, because I'm such a nice person and don't want people to end up fucked up like me. Then, I got bored and walked away. When I came back, I found my cousin staring at the back of one of the porn DVDs (sex scenes), and she just looked at it for awhile and walked away. Wanted to say something but I couldn't. Later on asked my mom about it and she said it was normal for people in JB.

Wedding was fun, spent time with my cousins and overall was a great day. Watched the grilling of the groom (you know, when the bridesmaids are making the groom do stupid shit outside the doors int he morning), and my aunties and uncles all said it was the longest they've ever seen. Made the poor guy do stupid stuff like put his bare feet into a bucket filled with F&N Orange and a big block of ice, climb over the gates (they did most of the grilling outside the actual door, but some of it was outside the gates of the house), imitate some.. something. It lasted a whole hour.

Sat through a boring church service, had some briyani and beef rendang for lunch and thats when I went shopping. Dinner was in a typical restaurant, made me feel like I was in Singapore again.

..Yeah, that's all.
Kind of waiting for Zong to call me up to invite me over to play Spec Ops. By the way, if you aren't (or are going to invite someone else), please tell me so I be a bit less relaxed about not having my PS3 repaired.

Apparently I have an aura that makes people hate me, and this aura works online mostly. Hell, I didn't even insult a person, didn't kill him or repeatedly rape him or anything since I was sucking that game, and the next game he calls me a noob and says the only reason I'm doing good in the 2nd game is because I have a strong team. Liek, hello? Same team much.

Still waiting for To Aru Kagaku no Railgun 06 to be released by Chihiro (why am I even following such a delayed, slow group?), started rewatching CLANNAD and switch my (secondary) main character to Warrior of Light, because he is the sex.

Watching roughly 1 episode of CLANNAD per day, but when I get out of Daycamp I'll start watching 2-3 episodes at least, since I'll have a lot more free time (waking up at 8am and sleeping at 1am everyday tyvm). Also need to work on my list of visual novels and stuff.

Ah.

Life is so damn boring now.
Nothing interesting nothing new.

The only thing new today is that I found out I'm playing Natsukage way too slow.

The only interesting thing that happened this whole week, that actually isn't worth blogging but I have nothing else to write, is that Dornel is actually getting serious about trying to beat me apparently. Adding a FAQ writer to his MSN contacts, actually trying to find a way to fight against me online (thus, more regularly), learning a combo which I must admit is a fucking killer.

I wonder what's wrong with those Japanese people and their super late release dates. Kimi no Todoke OP release - NOVEMBER 25th? Why? Hell, I shouldn't be complaining since I don't even pay for the songs, but why would they delay so long. I want it now damn it.

Ah, getting back into the groove of spending time on forums, making grafix and photoshop arting.

Mostly because of nothing better to do.

Nothing special. Finally a Daycamp day without homework. Been raining a lot recently, so fucking cold. Did all my homework and as far as I know was the only one in the CL class to hand up the homework, I feel so proud of myself. I guess without someone to play with Daycamp is super fucking boring, since there was no Dornel to test my real builds on, I just wandered around school with Choy and Darren all day.

Waiting for the Kimi no Todoke OP/ED. I really like how the anime is turning out, first time in a long while that I actually bothered to watch the preview because I was curious.

I don't really get why the anime describes Sawako as ugly and scary though. In my opinion I'd have more fear looking at the accompanying 'main characters' Yano and Yoshida.

I still have a Chinese letter to do that was my homework. Wondering if I should do it before CL lesson or just go for the 2nd one. Nothing much to say here. Looks like the First Class Hike is really cancelled, since Zong says he'll be too tired to go and Lim Kai hasn't said anything to me about it yet.

My counter went up from 3047 to 3073, so I'm wondering where the 29 people came from.

Thoughts

I'll probably reach 300 posts by the end of the year, then I'll archive this blog and make a new one. 'Otakusaurus' was a whimsical name and it needs to be replaced. Though I'm mysteriously getting some 30+ visits a day which is extraordinary considering the amount of CBox comments I'm getting, e.g. none.

Today is the best fucking day ever. And strangely it's thanks to Marcus Choy. On the way home, his grandpa asked him if he wanted to eat, so we went to Holland V. He brought me to the pastry shop, and upon entering I found out 2 things. First, it's a Japanese Pastry shop - and Japanese pastries are fucking awesome. Secondly, THEY SELL FUCKING MELON BREAD (MERON PAN). Like. FUCK YES. I was literally squealing inside the shop (go ahead and laugh), and people were looking at me like I was retarded. As usual.

But YESSS. I bought two, I ate one just now and I'm bringing the other to school for my breakfast.

Played DotA. Need to brush up on my Techies, it's still very inconsistent.

Another reason why today is so awesome, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun OP/ED are out. As I already know, the OP/ED is awesome, and I'm listening to the OP B-side now, and since it's a fripSide song it's awesome. Going on to the ED B-side soon.

Finished Akane-iro too. I love it, I want the Visual Novel, but it's not translated and I'm not satisfied just by understanding the basic outline of the story and getting in-depth information from reading websites, I shall wait until I either can read Japanese to a decent extent or it gets a english translation.

C'mon MangaGamers! Give me my Akane-iro! I mean, it has Hirano Aya, Kugimiya Rie and Marina Inoue! HOW CAN YOU MISS SUCH A FRIGGIN GEM.

Looks like my First Class hike might get cancelled because of plagiarism. OH WELL! To me, it just means I can back out of this shit with no harm done to me. And I can always do it again next year, with my juniors but whatever, not like that kind of shit has ever mattered to me.

Looks like Kobato is becoming disappointing. I thought it'd get interesting when Kobato met Kohaku but it's just really boring, I couldn't even bear to watch through episode four.

On the other hand, things are looking good with the other anime. I dropped Kampfer and Winter Sonata (didn't like the art or language), and picked up TSB. To Aru, Kobato and Kimi no Todoke OPs and EDs I'm really looking forward to. Especially the To Aru OP/ED and Kimi no Todoke OP.

I also kind of want the Queen's Blade 2 OST and the Kimi no Todoke OST, as well as the Nightmare of Nunnally entire manga series in book form.

Oh wait that's unrelated.

Studycamp is a waste of time apparently, they make us go from 7:30 to 1, so thats 5 and a half hours. 2/5.5 hours I'm in lesson. The other 3.5 hours I'm sitting around the school fooling around, it's a huge waste of time.

Bad thing though, the CL teacher confiscated my sketchbook (I was doodling), and he saw 2 of my girl drawings. I presume he found it indecent, since he took those too and made me write my name and told me he'd show my mom.

All I can say to this is "Lol".

Hope I don't get punished severely for not paying attention, but if they lecture me for having the drawings I don't really know what to say. Imagine if they open my bag and find my Shana file, lol.

Kimi no Todoke, Daycamp

Well, strangely enough while I was watching the first half of episode 4 for KnT, I was thinking 'Wow this show seems to be getting boring, their just being happy happy for the past episodes', but it made a complete turnaround with the conflict that has just arisen.

Kimi no Todoke is awesome.

Ah tomorrow (today), I have to go for the first day of Daycamp. The only real problem I have with it is that I have to wake up so damn early to make sure I am not late, since the school bus won't come and fetch me.
