Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann! & True Tears

It's a Shonen anime.
I didn't expect much from it at the start - not at all.
I thought it would be another Naruto.
Or maybe another Bleach.
Bloody HELL I was WRONG.

THAT WAS FUCKING EPIC!

Even though it has the typical Shonen style of the heroes breaking through most impossible probabilities (Hell, even the characters in the show talked about them breaking through the functional probability of the universe controlled by their enemies, A.K.A they were fighting Gods), even though it has a relatively normal base plot (Going through anything and everything to defeat their enemies), even though it's a freaking Shonen anime...

It was awesome. It's one of those animes that make me want to spend $200 on merchandise. Actually, I'm already looking at that. There are a lot more clothing merchandise than any other anime I've seen before. Hell, I'm looking at buying a jacket - the one that Simon wears for normal use, or the black collar shirt (like our school uniform) that has Yoko's quote on it.

I can't even begin to describe it in words - I don't know where to start. The only other animes that stays above Gurren Lagann now are CLANNAD and True Tears - no matter how profound the latter was.

Currently my standings are:
1. CLANNAD/Afterstory
2. True Tears
3. Gurren Lagann/Toradora
5. Kanon/AIR
7. Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu
8. Lucky Star
9. Code Geass/R2
10. Ichigo 100%

Speaking of which. True Tears is another anime I finished recently (in the past week). It is another short anime which only lasts like 13 episodes, and while it isn't a tearjerker like CLANNAD or Kanon, it has much more subtle.. tearjerking? It kind of makes your heart cry rather than your physical self. Aaaah~ While I won't spoil it for you guys, I definitely recommend both Gurren Lagann and True Tears.

By the way, Bristan, if you're interested in continuing to watch Toradora (or another other of these animes for that matter), you can always ask me to send it to you.

And if any of you want to reform into watching anime, you can always ask me.

Also, I'm giving out cutest girl in anime awards now. Note that these are all IMO.

CLANNAD: Ushio Okazaki/Fuuko Ibuki/Kyou Fujibayashi/Nagisa Okazaki (I couldn't pick one.)
Gurren Lagann: Darry (Seriously)
Code Geass/R2: None, but if I had to pick one it'd be C.C.
True Tears: Noe
Lucky Star: Kagamin
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu: Who else? Suzumiya Haruhi-sama
Kanon: Makoto
AIR: Misuzu Kamio
Ichigo 100%: Yui
Rosario+Vampire: Yuki Hime (I forgot her name...)
Negima: Nodoka
Love Hina: The Nodoka-like girl... I forget her name too.

Heh. Let the fandom reach a whole new level.

Comment Replies & Drama Camp *EDITED*

I'll start off with replying to comments in CBOX.
-
@Dornel: Please, stop being a total tard. Calling me a coward is worthless with that reason, because you very well know I have said many, many things to your face in real life before, faggot.

@Merrill: Hmm. I'm not sure what to say. Though I can give you reasons why I can't so much as consider you as a friend right now. 1st of all, I rarely talk to you anymore. At all. And most of the time there's nothing to say - you dislike the kind of anime I watch, and insult it. You very well know you did, especially during OEP at like, Tiger Leaping Gorge. 2nd of all, you seem to be a lot more irritating/frustrating recently (I know I'm being hypocritical here). It's like, you always come in to be your stupid random self at the most inappropriate times, as if you were hoping that it'd cheer everybody up or be funny. Maybe it's just my bad sense of humour, but in the past 2-3 months or so, nearly everything you've said is neither funny nor encouraging.

Like when you DotA, you should know by now that I take it seriously, and whenever you die or I die you're like 'oh well, haha'. And then you keep doing that for awhile. And like the game with Jon Wei where you scolded him, it was like you were happy the whole time until Jerald left and you suddenly exploded - that totally ruined the mood of the game (I know I'm being an ass because I was on the winning side though.)

Anyway, it seems like whenever I use this blog to post out whatever I don't say outwardly in real life, people get pissed. You know, if I really were to say everything I think in real life, 1st of all I'd never be able to hold a proper conversation with Dornel without insulting him after every sentence or so, and 2nd I'd piss you people off with the impression of being arrogant or bossy.

But, yeah. You know, you don't have to read here. This is equivalent to my inner mindset, this is everything I reflect on at the end of each day (excluding anime posts or days where its totally normal). If you're interested to find out what I am thinking of everyday, then you can read, if you'd rather not know what I think of when I interact with you, don't read it. If you want me to be incredibly negative towards you guys every other sentence you speak or so, and want me to speak my mind whenever I'm talking with you all, then tell me.

Anyway, on to a more positive note.

Just got back from the Drama Pseudo-Camp. Basically on Friday, we had to meet up at 2-9pm, and then we are supposed to go home, rest, and come back on Saturday to meet up from 8am to 9pm. Well, Friday was okay I guess. It was more tiring than I thought especially whenever Keng Yeen wasn't around, and I had to manage the Sec 1s along with Darren. Their really a handful, but it's fun being the guy that has authority for once. The day ended at 10pm, with us (me, Zong, Bristan) going to Zong's house after that for a one night sleepover. I pretty much was thinking "Wow this is going to be a quiet sleepover" but surprise surprise! We got to Zong's house at 10:10pm or so, showered and it was around 10:30. We played Rockband until like 12:30 or something like that.

Bristan's a better drummer than me and Zong expected, and we even got a five star on one of the songs once. The FagPipers are welcoming their new bandmate, Bristan the hardcore drummer :D
I can see potential in his strokes.

Anyway - we went to 'bed', lay there for awhile and when Zong's mom was gone, we started playing Truth or Dare. Without Dornel or Thomas our questions were relatively normal without much sex or girl-related shit, but eventually it would have to turn there. Then we played Scenarios for awhile and then went to bed.

Saturday - woke up late, arrived at 8:20 (20 mins late) and then we spent the rest of the day mostly slacking. there wasn't much that happened today, and I'm still kind of tired. Anyway, gonna watch a few Gurren Lagann episodes, and go to bed.

*EDIT: I forgot to post about the girl.
There was a girl at the camp, that the senior (Army Dude) called an artist. That kind of caught my attention, and I kept looking at her (imo she was cute).
Told Darren, and he was like "OOOH SHEEEEEEP" and everytime he saw the girl he'd be like "Oi Sheep, look, its your idol" and that was irritating. But he also said she was cute
Told Keng Yeen, he was like "Yeah, okay, yeah shes cute, but her big glasses kind of weird."

So I spent 2 days looking at this girl, basically. Then at the end mdm.tee was talking about the seniors and was like "Johannes(?), Joshua, something and Johannes' girlfriend" and then I felt guilty for staring at somebodys girlfriend for 2 days. I think she noticed too, >_>;

goodnight, blogosphere.

Hmmm?

Well Bristan, if you are going to update everytime I do, then be prepared to possibly have to post a lot more than you usually do. =]

Well it seems I have once again succesfully pissed off Dornel by refusing to acknowledge him as a friend. Let me quote from the SMS we just sent to each other.

Me: Dornel, when is E Math and English tomorrow? Before or after reccess?

Dornel: I dont know. Why don't you ask one of your friends.

Me: Lmao. Okay.

Dornel: Good Night. And please stop asking me. Im not about to run downstairs to get my schedule out of my bag.

Just felt like posting that up since it just ended.
Anyway, came back early at 4:30 today because Tuition was supposed to start at 5, but the teacher called to postpone to 6, then to 6:30, then to 7:10. In the end, it started at 7:30.
Ah bloody hell, at least it was a pretty slack tuition.

Right now I should be doing my E Math worksheets, but am too engrossed in watching True Tears and am downloading Toradora! 25. This means I will probably be up pretty late today, meh.

Not much to say, but I'll be staying over at Zong's for tomorrow night, so yeah, there may not be a blog post.

Daily Happenings and anime-related stuff

Since it seems some of you don't like the anime parts of my posts, I'll put the life part in front and put my anime obsessions at the back.
--

Recently I've been updating my blog a lot more than I used to be. Maybe because right now I seem to be running low on friends (Current people who I consider friends: Marcus Choy, Darren, Bristan, Danyal, Zong, Marcus [Scouts and Drama], Jun Meng, Joel Lee Keng Yeen). Looks like I'll be relying on this blog a lot more than I originally planned to back then, when I made my blog just for fun.

Anyway, drama has been rather stressful lately, when combined with the mass of March Holiday Homework I still have left over from the holidays. For example, 4 math worksheets, 3 A-math worksheets, History War Guilt Clause worksheet, and basically that is it. But do not underestimate Mr Keith Tan's imbalanced E-Math worksheets, they will one hit ko you if you do not approach with the utmost caution.

OHMYGOD MY NAGISA STICKER IS COMING OUT! KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE PUT IT WHERE MY PALM WOULD BE RUBBING AGAINST IT LIKE ALL THE TIME. GODDAMNIT.

*ahem* Moving on... I became more enthusiastic towards Scouts recently. Maybe because of the fun I had at the MGS campfire (which did not have anything to do with girls, mind you). On the other hand, I'm getting more and more sick of Drama - probably because I have very little interest in actual acting. I joined originally because Zong was in it and Aikido sucked arse, but I'm still having fun joking around with *surprise* Bristan and Keng Yeen.

I will probably update tomorrow before I go for Drama Camp on Fri-Sun.

As for the Anime Section,
Been watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Heaven Piercing Drill or something like that). I originally thought it was a shallow comedy mecha anime, but surprisingly, there is actual plot to it. This is akin to the shock I got when I discovered Toradora was AWESOME. Right now on the 2nd or 3rd arc if I'm not wrong, at the part where Simon finds Nia.

I am also still downloading Hayate no Gotoku (Hayate the Combat Butler), and watched 2 episodes after putting them on high priority download. The animation is very.. not good, I have to say, but the storyline is definitely random and entertaining - for now. It doesn't seem like there's going to be any deep plot to it, but I'm only on the 2nd episode so it's too early to say.

And finally, I am downloading True Tears, which won one of the awards at Anime Blog ga Arimasu (An anime blog that I frequent as a lurker). The screenshot caught my eye and enticed me, took me a good 3 months to find decent torrent for it - surprisingly a batch torrent by the subbers. I've watched the 1st and 2nd episode while the rest are still downloading, and I am definitely hooked on it. Already downloaded the OP and ED and putting them on my PSP. It looks like it may match Toradora in terms of entertainment, but it's not CLANNAD-standard. At least, not yet.

Confession Time

Hmm, for some reason this incident comes back to me - the time that (I think) I almost killed my little brother. Yeah, it sounds weird, but I just feel like putting it up here for some reason - one day I'll come back and reread this, hopefully have a good laugh.

It was some time last year or in Secondary One, which is around the time I stopped bullying my little bro. From P1 to P6 I was always tormenting him, hitting or throwing stuff at him for no reason. But for some reason, I stopped doing that in Sec 1, and started treating him like an 'ideal brother'. This is around when it started.

He used to be scared of me, scared of whatever I did. Whenever I moved my hand he'd back off, but gradually he started to become an arrogant fag - whenever I ask him to help me get something (usually convenient for him since he was at the place), he would refuse. I kinda tolerated this for awhile.

Then one day, I was arguing with him for something. Probably had to do with him refusing to help me with the simplest tasks (e.g. hes in the kitchen and I ask him to get me a tissue), and I got damn pissed. His comebacks as usual were all utter trash, stuff like... oh wait he never fought back, he just looked at me with defiant eyes. Then at some point he shouted something like 'Yeah right, you care for me too much, you surely won't hit me one'

Lol, that so got me off. From what I still remember, I grabbed him by the collar and threw him onto the bed, and started shouting shit at him. Nothing vulgar because my maid was outside and she was way overprotective of little brother, but still shouting. And it was the new maid so she was pretty damn scared of me also (I am a total bitch at home). Then when he started being defiant again, he went and kicked my stomach. After that I kicked him onto the ground and stepped my foot on his chest while telling him to 'stop being such a bloody asshole and stop taking shit for granted' and then left him there, coughing on the ground while I went outside to the hall.

I probably still remember it because I thought he was going to die after I left him on the ground, he couldn't stand up and looked like he was choking. Though, about half an hour later he came out with red eyes - yeah he probably cried or something. Well, after that day he hasn't been an arrogant ass since, and takes me seriously if I'm really pissed or stressed out.

...Not sure why I put this up, or what the title is supposed to mean, but hey, at least it's something for you guys to read, eh?

-HARUHIIST

Kanon

I wonder how many of you bother to read the blog title.
Hell, I wonder how many of you are bothering to check this blog anymore.
It seems only Bristan is bothering to talk in the cbox.

Anyway, I was bored just now after having nothing to do (packed my bag and contemplated the worst outcomes for tomorrow and how to get out of them), making sure I put Marcus Choy's report book in my bag as well as the Keith Tan homework to show Darren incase he doesn't belive I already tried it.

Was sitting at my computer, frustrated because all the Bamboo Blade torrents are dead, decided to torrent Hayate the Combat Butler instead and am downloading that now along with a True Tears batch torrent.

And I was bored enough, while staring at my desktop, to open up the Kanon.exe and start playing again. I feel kind of guilty being so enthusiastic about Shiori's path being opened 2 months ago when NDT released their patch, but never got past, like, the 1st week. I haven't even gotten to the part where Yuiichi enters school yet, which is kind of pathetic in my opinion.

If I remember correctly I told myself to play it during the holiday but obviously that didn't happen, and I probably will not be able to play the VN properly until SYF is over and I may finish off Shiori's path in 3-4 weeks at the rate this is going. Hopefully NDT releases the patch for Mai by then, because I kinda want to play her path - or rather, her path comes to mind first when I think 'which path do I want to play...'.

In other life news, Zong seems to be a bit 'colder' towards me, and I seem to be talking with Bristan more. Resentment towards Dornel continues and I am gradually relying on Darren and Marcus as my only friends in 3.07. Kind of sad, I know, at this rate I'll be a total loner this year and next year. I wouldn't consider Dornel so much of a friend as he is a person that happens to be talking to me in that particular environment that I am in. Seems like he only talks to me to irritate me, talk about Krystal or Ariel. Otherwise there's really no reason.

As for Merrill, his crazy antics continue to frustrate me when they are pulled off at the wrong times and I barely ever talk to Danyal for anything other than obtaining permission to do things or checking about Drama.

And Thomas.. uh... my relations with him continue to be, uh, as strong as ever. Yep.

Sigh, my life is going down the drain. I'd rather be failing with lots of friends than doing super good but being a loner. At this rate, I'll have the crap ends on both sides - failing with no friends.

Blargh.
